The Jason Savas Baseball and Football Memorabilia Collection
Incredible display accumulated over a 50 year span depicting the history of Baseball and Football from the 1860's (1890's in football) to the present. The collection features several thousand unique, 3-dimensional items on display behind forty-four lit shelves in seven show cases, in addition to numerous wall displays, including over 500 Babe Ruth items alone. The bulk of the collection consists of figural pieces such as figurines, bobbin heads, banks (still & mechanical), tobacco related; cigar boxes, bands, cigarettes, ash trays, lighters, tins, 37 coin-operated penny arcade games including gum ball dispensers, trade stimulators, card vending machines along with period Exhibit cards, a slot machine with candy dispenser, a penny mutoscope featuring Babe Ruth hitting a home run and circling the bases, multiple advertising displays, liquor decanters, a New York Yankee mannequin, door stops, book ends, pennants, tin types, hand-held games, board games, clocks, watches, jewelry, rings, broaches, hat pins, stick pins, key chains, fobs, knives, printing items; pens, pencils, printing blocks, punch boards, coins, salt & pepper shakers, lamps, gloves, masks, dolls, planters, snow domes, lamps, candy, gum balls, books, booklets, folk art, auction catalogs, ceramic, porcelain, glass, celluloid, plastic, wood, rubber, metal/gold/silver/tin, Aluminum/ brass/bronze from Japan, Germany, Italy, China, Korea, Taiwan, USA, Canada.
Unlike my baseball card collection which was neatly organized and tucked away in shoe boxes in the closet, I was able to display my stadium concessions on shelves to appreciate 24/7. What started out as a hobby evolved into a passion over the next 50 plus years. And over the subsequent years, the sports memorabilia hobby has seen an immense increase in interest in displayable collectible items. Collectors all across the country have found that these display type items can be enjoyed on a full-time basis as they decorate their basements, offices, bedrooms and dens.
Collections of this size and variety are hard to find and almost always broken up with the items being sold individually or in small lots.
All 37 coin-operated games are counter top size, 10 have pedestal stands, and all but 2 have keys.
All Display Cases are free standing with adjustable feet.
